Picky Eater Pasta Sauce what is that?!
We all know a picky eater, they don’t like to try anything new, vegetables scare them, their favourite foods are most likely chicken fingers or pizza. Well, picky eater pasta sauce is here to rescue us veggie loving humans, from bland, repetitive food.
Can you believe that the picture above started like this…
Then it went to this…
Added two jars of store bought tomato basil pasta sauce, cooked it down and…
And because we like it, I added some ground chicken, extra garlic and topped it with both Parm and Mozzarella.
Something almost everyone can agree on, is a classic tomato sauce is liked, or even loved by most people. So, if you have picky eaters, pasta sauce is a great place to hide a ton of veggies! And what’s even better is using a Vitamix to cut down on a lot of prep time. Honestly, no will ever notice all the veggies you have snuck in.
This pasta sauce has everything in it!
In the video I used, spinach, onion, beets, zucchini, basil, garlic, mushrooms and even some red wine 😉 Really, you can put in whatever you like. And because we puree all the vegetables you will most likely not be able to distinguish any particular vegetable. The only thing you will only notice is how amazing it tastes!
The recipe is posted below, but truly you really don’t need one. Add whatever veggies you like and get blending! The Vitamix is key but, if you don’t have one using an immersion blender would also work. Why a Vitamix? Because, most blenders don’t have the power needed to make sure everything is finely pureed.
If you would prefer to not add in red wine, make sure you replace it with another liquid. You could use water, chicken stock, vegetable stock or even some tomato sauce. The liquid is super important because it helps the vegetables to blend smoothly. You really don’t need much liquid but you do need some.
And you have any questions please send them my way!
